About Us

What's in a name?

The name Kardi Vera is a combination of languages: "Kardi" from the Greek Kardia meaning heart, and "Vera," the Sanskrit word for body. At Kardi Vera we use only fresh whole organic ingredients. No oils, concentrates, extracts, artificial flavors or colors of any kind. We start with whole Chili Peppers, Turmeric, Ginger, Garlic, Tomatoes and Herbs. Then we blend them in perfect combinations to produce our delicious sauces, with all the micro-nutrients intact. Make it your new obsession, guilt free. Look for Kardi Vera sauces in farmers markets and local grocery stores around the northwest, starting summer 2019.

Rabah's Story

A few years ago I had a heart attack that nearly ended my life. Even with regular exercise, my cardiologist said I needed blood thinners and other medications to stay healthy. I started researching what foods could actively help my heart condition. I came up with a short list including: Ginger, Turmeric, Red Grapes and Chili Peppers. After months of experimenting with different recipes I settled on the ingredients in our Zingi sauce. My cardiologist was impressed with how quickly my blood was responding to treatment including my new dietary addition. As I was weaned off the medications, my blood stayed thin and my doctor was amazed. He had never seen anyone's blood change for the better as mine had. Now I am sharing my sauce with you, not only is it good for you, it has a fantastic flavor that works with almost anything from wings and stir fry to cheese sandwiches or salad.

Of course we must make a disclaimer  to keep the FDA happy:  We make no medical claims for the use of our sauces. Our research indicated which ingredients would be most beneficial to heart and health. While the combination tastes great and has worked well for Rabah, we can't guarantee the same results for everyone.

Our Mission

We craft sauces that make your taste buds happy and keep your body healthy.  Our ingredients are organic because we don't think you should put poison on your food.  We use  the complete food, not just an extract or powder.  Turmeric and Ginger are well known for their anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, both are featured prominently in our sauces. Scientists and pharmacologists have been breaking down these plants to isolate the active ingredients. These derived concentrates may contain larger amounts of the beneficial compounds, but they miss everything else. Much of the good stuff like fiber and the micro-nutrients in the plant get left behind. At Kardi Vera we use the whole plant. We give the Ginger, Turmeric, Onions and  Shallots a rough peel before they go into the pot, along with de-stemmed Chili Peppers and Tomatoes.  All the goodness of the whole ingredient goes into the sauce.

We source most of our produce from local farmers engaged in sustainable practices.  Our Onions, Tomatoes,  Shallots, Ginger, Honey and Apple Cider Vinegar are all grown, harvested and produced in the Pacific Northwest. We have a great local source for hot Peppers, but can't always get the quantities we need during the winter months so we turn to points south. Our Turmeric is grown in Hawaii and our Red Wine Vinegar comes from Italy.
